About us

Barney’s Rigging Pty Ltd trading as QLD Sheds and Constructions (ABN 26 849 209 709) collects personal information to respond to shed enquiries and plan, quote and deliver agreed services.

Information we collect

We may collect your name, business details, phone number, email address, proposed site address, project requirements, correspondence and files you choose to provide, such as sketches, photographs, plans and site reports. Please only provide information relevant to your enquiry and make sure you have permission to share information about other people.

How we collect and use information

We collect information through our website enquiry forms, email, telephone and project discussions. We also keep project text messages when written confirmation is provided and accepted that way. We use it to contact you, assess your requirements, prepare and revise proposals, coordinate agreed work and keep business records. You may leave unknown project details blank and discuss them with us. Without a contact method, we may be unable to respond; without sufficient project information, we may be unable to prepare a reliable quote.

Service providers and disclosure

Our website uses Squarespace and our online enquiry forms use Fillout (by Zite). We use Make to process enquiry submissions, prepare enquiry packs and send staff notifications through our Google Workspace email. We store enquiry packs and supporting documents in our private Microsoft 365 OneDrive. Information provided through these services may be held by those providers and their infrastructure, file-storage and email providers. Where needed for your project, relevant information may also be shared with suppliers, engineers, installers and other contractors involved in preparing or delivering the agreed work. We may disclose information where required or permitted by law.

AI-assisted quote preparation

We use OpenAI’s ChatGPT Pro to compile and organise the contact, site and project information you provide for quoting purposes. This may include your name, contact details, site address and relevant uploaded plans or documents. Relevant information may be processed by OpenAI and its service providers. Our staff review the compiled information and resulting proposal; an online enquiry is not an automatically approved quote or engineering decision.

Overseas processing

Some service providers process information outside Australia, including in the United States and Europe. Our enquiry automation uses Make’s EU region. The locations used by Squarespace, Fillout, Google, Microsoft and OpenAI can depend on their infrastructure, service providers and selected service configuration. Their published privacy policies and provider lists explain their arrangements. We will update this policy when our service arrangements change.

Website data and cookies

Squarespace and embedded form services may collect technical information such as IP addresses, browser/device information and pages visited, and use cookies to operate their services and provide analytics. Your browser settings can control cookies, although some website or form functions may be affected. Any additional advertising tracking will be described before it is enabled.

Storage and retention

We hold enquiry and project information in our Google Workspace email, Microsoft 365 OneDrive and our form, automation and quoting records, including accepted project text-message confirmations. We take reasonable steps to restrict access and protect information. We retain information for enquiry follow-up, project administration and applicable business record requirements. Contact us if you want to ask about information we hold or request its deletion; some records may need to be retained for legal or business obligations.

Access, correction and complaints

You can request access to or correction of your information, or raise a privacy concern, by contacting James using the details below. Please explain your request and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant record. We may need to verify your identity before releasing information. We will assess your request and respond, including explaining any reason we cannot fulfil it. If your concern remains unresolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
